International Youth Day will be celebrated on August 13, 2026. During this, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the government is once again going to start distributing laptops, according to which one lakh free laptops will be provided to needy and deserving female students across the country.

The responsibility for the wording of this scheme has been entrusted to the Higher Education Commission (HEC), while applications are being received through the official portal of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program and the newly launched Digital Youth Hub (DYH) mobile app. The last date for submitting applications was set as May 20, 2026, so students were instructed to submit their applications within the stipulated time.

Students’ Eligibility Criteria For PM Youth Laptop Scheme 2026

This scheme provides laptops to students on the basis of merit and is reserved for students studying in public sector universities and HEC-approved institutions:

✅ General Requirements:

🆔The applicant must have a valid identity card (CNIC) or a B.E. form.

🎓The applicant must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, M.Phil or Ph.D. degree program..

📊Minimum academic performance:

CGPA 2.80 out of 4.00 (or higher)

OR 60% marks in the annual system

✅ First-Year Students:

Eligible on HSSC/Intermediate results.

✅ Postgraduate Students (MS/MPhil/PhD):

Need to provide previous degree results.

✅ Reserved Quotas:

There are quotas for admission:

18% quota for students from Balochistan

5% quota for distance learning students
